AN EXPERIENCED PERFORMER FOR KIDS
As co-founder of Company Gongoma, Miriam has performed and taught workshops across Australia. Company Gongoma’s show The Mermaid’s Daughter (written by Miriam and co-founder Jenny Ellis) was nominated for the Adelaide Fringe Festival Puppetry Award 2008 and won the Melbourne Fringe Festival Award for The Best School Holiday Program 2008.
Miriam has performed as musician and narrator in Gongoma Theatre at numerous festivals across Australia including Woodford Folk Festival & Yungaburra Folk Festival (QLD), Fairbridge Folk Festival & UNIMA World Puppetry Congress (WA), Cygnet Folk Festival Festival (TAS) and The National Folk Festival (ACT), She has also performed to thousands of kindergarten and primary school children as part of the Young Australia Workshop touring program since 2008.

THE MAGICAL BIRD
A one woman story telling solo show for kids with live music – vocals, guitar, African harp (kora),
a looping machine and an iPhone. How can the magical bird fix one kids most peculiar problem –boredom!

THE WORLD NEEDS MUSIC
Prepare to be taken on a journey into musical styles from across the globe in this compelling
multi instrumental interactive performance by Miriam Lieberman as we explore these important questions.
Through voice, playing the 21 stringed African harp (kora), guitar as well as West African xylophone
we will explore the rich and culturally diverse musical traditions of West Africa, Latin America, South
India and the Middle East. Be lead through a series of songs exploring improvisation, rhythmic patterns,
call and response and movement in this dynamic interactive performance with flavors from around the globe.
