You’re invited to a HOUSE CONCERT WITH MIRIAM LIEBERMAN
in Kuranda
Miriam is a singer songwriter who has travelled the world in search of songs, instruments and
adventure. The result is “a rich cross cultural hybrid“ of music that’s both uplifting in song and
infectious in rhythm. She brings her Kora – a 21 fishing line string African harp, rhythmic guitar and
her captivating vocals. Having studied the Kora with masters (including Toumani Diabate) in West
Africa. Miriam’s new album Birds of the Moon (Released 2014) takes the beautiful timbre of the
Kora, African rhythms and powerful vocals to create songs that stay with the listener long after they
are heard.
Lieberman is a robust singer with a sensual yet brittle undertone. Her songs are beautifully melodic,
richly textured but can have pointed themes.
Simply brilliant! 4 and a half stars Jeff Glorfeld THE AGE
