Sydney Townhall Refugee Week Celebration: Different Pasts Shared Future

Miriam will be performing alongside Kate Adams on Cello and Lara Goodridge on violin within an exciting program of speakers and music to celebrate the contribution that refugees  and asylum seekers make to Australia

The Asylum Seekers Centre is hosting a Refugee Week celebration, in partnership with the City of Sydney – ‘Different Pasts, Shared Future’.

Hosted by Julia Baird, ABC The Drum, we will hear from a number of high profile guest speakers including author Thomas Keneally, social researcher Hugh Mackay, artist Wendy Sharpe, Principal of Holroyd High School Dorothy Hoddinott and Graham Thom of Amnesty.  Asylum seeker Gerald Magala Mukiibi and refugee Prosper Gateretse will share with us their stories and we will be entertained by singer songwriter Miriam Lieberman.

The evening will be a celebration of the incredible contribution that refugees and asylum seekers make to Australia.
