You’re invited two hour vocal workshop celebrating Women’s Day and helping to raise funds for short film animation Big Bertha.
INFO ON MIRIAM AND THE WORKSHOP
Miriam is a seasoned vocalist , instrumentalist and live performer who has ` always loved the simple joy of singing as well as exploring the craft of vocal technique.
Her dynamic teaching style incorporates body and vocal warm ups, as well as songs from around the world. Amongst the teaching repertoire are West African call and response songs, ancient Hebrew psalms and classical Indian vocal warm ups to name a few. Sing out loud and enjoy connecting to the oldest and most innate instrument – your human voice!
Miriam has studied traditional music and voice for extended periods in West Africa, Southern India and Latin America. Miriam has also studied Jazz vocals. Having gathered songs and vocal techniques from all over the world, Miriam applies these styles to her own music and vocal sound. She has run vocal workshops at many festivals including Fairbridge Folk Festival, Music on Magnetic island, Cobargo Folk Festival, Ichiki peace festival in Japan, art centres as well as schools.
Bring lunch to share for the end of the workshop (and togs if you fancy a swim – beach only 5 minutes away).
Cost will be $30 – $70 depending on what you can afford – money towards a short film animation of very beautiful song (Big Bertha).
